Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Kimmel dated for five years so there's no doubt in my mind that their breakup has been extremely tough on both of them. Although their reps say that they remain good friends, they were caught
holding hands over the weekend. But since they were not only lovers, but also each other's best friend, I can only imagine how hard it must be to suddenly have that person out of your life.

You could have cut the tension with a knife last night on
The Hills when Heidi's mom made a surprise appearance for her daughter's birthday. Apparently she was unaware that Spencer had moved back in and was disappointed, to say the least, to have been kept in the dark. Although Heidi's mom's distress was mostly due to her daughter's dysfunctional relationship, I know not all parents are accepting of their kids cohabitating with their significant others before marriage.

Last night's episode of
The Hills sure didn't disappoint in the drama department, but I'm still surprised that Audrina semi-befriending Heidi wasn't made into a bigger deal than it was. I think it's been an unspoken assumption that LC's friends had to pick a side in the Heidi-LC war, but Audrina didn't skip a beat when presented with the opportunity to be chummy again with Heidi. Though LC didn't have the reaction I thought she'd have, I can only assume that their reunion will cause quite a rift in their already rocky friendship.

As I'm sure you all heard, DJ AM and Travis Barker were
critically injured in a plane crash over the weekend but thankfully, both are expected to
make a full recovery. Although they are no longer together, I just learned that
AM's ex-girlfriend Mandy Moore rushed to his bedside in South Carolina yesterday to support him on his road to recovery. Her presence clearly proves that she still cares a great deal for her ex, which got me thinking about how the worst scenarios have the ability to bring people together.
