 <title>Vasectomies: Good Form of Birth Control?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/2540480</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;Women have many birth control options ranging from &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/the%20pill&quot; &gt;The Pill&lt;/a&gt; to the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/IUC&quot; &gt;IUCs&lt;/a&gt;, but  &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/48_2008/a64723094b0bfd9f_man.xlarge.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left image xlarge&quot; height=&quot;320&quot; width=&quot;278&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;men can only rely on condoms to prevent pregnancy. There is another more invasive option though — a &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.fitsugar.com/1925846&quot; &gt;vasectomy&lt;/a&gt;. Although this seems like a procedure for older men, it turns out that more and more &lt;a href=&quot;http://blog.cleveland.com/health/2008/11/vasectomies_a_young_mans_birth.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;young men are opting for this minor surgery&lt;/a&gt;. The procedure is short, can be done in a doctor&#039;s office with local anesthesia, and the guy can usually go back to work within a day or two. Young men are into this as a form of contraception because they&#039;ve heard it can be reversed. So is it a good form of birth control? To find out &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>You Asked: I Have an Irrational Fear of Getting Pregnant </title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/2512438</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;Dear Sugar, &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have a rather strange irrational fear. Even though I am on hormonal birth control, use condoms, and never miss a period, I continually fear that I&#039;ll somehow magically get pregnant.  This fear is quite literally taking over my life, not to mention ruining my otherwise wonderful sex life with my fiancé. I desire sex with him daily, but my fear of getting pregnant is so salient that I either make an excuse to avoid it, or just fall asleep while he is making a pass at me — we end up only have sex twice a week.  I have been this way ever since he and I began having sex seven years ago.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/0/3362/47_2008/0fc840270e244ad7_fear.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;outline center image xlarger&quot; width=&quot;400&quot; height=&quot;266&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
My fear comes and goes with varying degrees, but it seems that it is worse during times of high stress. Every twitch, every headache, and every gurgle in my stomach is interpreted to me as a pregnancy sign. I feel like I am so alone. I know that I&#039;m being ridiculous, but I cannot get it out of my mind. I am almost willing to go as far as sterilization to ease this anxiety. Do you have any advice? — Freaking Out Fionna &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To see DearSugar&#039;s answer &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Lifestyles Skyn Condoms: &quot;Closest Thing to Wearing Nothing&quot;</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/2394704</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/45_2008/fd95a9e168febcbe_condom_big_1.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image xlarge&quot; height=&quot;282&quot; width=&quot;294&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;If condoms are your primary form of birth control, for both &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/Pregnancy&quot; &gt;pregnancy&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/2118694&quot; &gt;STI prevention&lt;/a&gt;, then you&#039;ll be happy to know there&#039;s a new thin condom on the market. &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.lifestyles.com/condoms.php&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Lifestyles Skyn&lt;/a&gt; pledges to be the &quot;closest thing to wearing nothing.&quot; Well that sounds inviting, doesn&#039;t it? These new Skyn condoms are made of a breakthrough material called polyisoprene, which is designed to be softer, stretchier, and more natural feeling. Skyns are meant to feel more like skin-to-skin contact, which is what we&#039;re after when it comes to sex, right? They are latex-free, so they&#039;re perfect if you have a &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.fitsugar.com/88721&quot; &gt;latex allergy&lt;/a&gt;, but they still protect you against STIs. If you&#039;re turned off by regular &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/871812&quot; &gt;condoms&lt;/a&gt; because they decrease sexual sensations, then you may want to give these a try. Let me warn you that they&#039;re pricier than latex condoms, with a &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?id=prod4021777&amp;amp;CATID=100266&amp;amp;skuid=sku4020626&amp;amp;V=G&amp;amp;ec=frgl_531297&amp;amp;ci_src=14110944&amp;amp;ci_sku=sku4020626#&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;12-pack&lt;/a&gt; costing around $13.50. If they make your time under the sheets better, then I say they&#039;re worth the extra dough!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Have any of you tried these Skyn condoms yet? If so, let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>What Happened to the Today Sponge?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/2388709</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;So you hate that &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/2426679&quot; &gt;condoms&lt;/a&gt; make sex less enjoyable and you despise being on &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/435951&quot; &gt;hormones&lt;/a&gt; because they make you moody. &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/44_2008/1dea957c89d20cf1_today-sponge.larger.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image larger&quot; height=&quot;240&quot; width=&quot;227&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt; So what&#039;s a girl to do about preventing pregnancy? Maybe you&#039;ve considered the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/553153&quot; &gt;Today Sponge&lt;/a&gt;. It&#039;s a hormone-free, spermicidal foam sponge that a woman inserts before sex. It covers the cervix so it prevents sperm from getting to the uterus and it also kills any sperm that should happen to pass through. Women who love the Today Sponge really love it, but the problem is, it&#039;s off the market! Last December, Synova, the company who manufactured it went bankrupt. No money means no Today Sponge. But I have good news. To hear it &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Where Do You Stand? Using Condoms When You&#039;re Married</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/2426679</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;If you&#039;re not a fan of hormonal birth control, your options are limited when it comes to staying pregnancy-free. &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/2419530&quot; &gt;Condoms&lt;/a&gt; are an easy choice to stay protected when you&#039;re &lt;i&gt;not&lt;/i&gt; in a committed relationship, but I&#039;ve been hearing more and more married couples say that condoms are their preferred method of birth control, too. Of course to each their own, but isn&#039;t one of the perks of being in a committed marriage (one that&#039;s clear of STIs) that you don&#039;t have to fuss with interrupting the moment to find a condom? Clearly I&#039;d pick another method, but where do you stand on using condoms when you&#039;re married? Do you, or would you, use them too?&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Do Tell: How Does Hormonal Birth Control Affect Your Mood?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/2397708</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/0/3362/43_2008/9b06a3a4d3a19788_Woman-Moody.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image xlarge&quot; height=&quot;315&quot; width=&quot;315&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Though I do think hormonal birth control options, like &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1115464&quot; &gt;the pill&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1614851&quot; &gt;Nuvaring&lt;/a&gt;, are great methods of contraception, I’ll be the first to admit that the fluctuation in hormones can definitely cause feelings of irritability and depression. Of course much of it depends on the dosage, as well as how your body handles it. So ladies, do tell: Have you found yourself fighting with your moodiness after going on hormonal birth control? Or does it actually improve your moods?&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Virginia Pharmacy Won&#039;t Carry Contraception</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/2395002</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;I&#039;ve heard of Roman Catholics not believing in birth control, but now a new &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27311596/&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Roman Catholic pharmacy&lt;/a&gt; in Virginia doesn&#039;t believe in &lt;i&gt;selling it.&lt;/i&gt; &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/43_2008/11d826e6b45e68fa_bc.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image xlarge&quot; height=&quot;307&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Divine Mercy Care Pharmacy isn&#039;t the only one letting their faith lead their business. Seven other pharmacies across the nation are doing the same. They&#039;re refusing to sell any forms of contraception, including condoms, birth control pills, and the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1139043&quot; &gt;morning-after pill&lt;/a&gt;, even if the person has a prescription. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;States are dealing with this issue by passing laws that require drugstores to go against their religious beliefs and fill the prescriptions. Right now though, in the state of Virginia, these laws don&#039;t exist and devout Catholic-based drugstores are allowed to deny birth control to anyone who walks in their store. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To find out what abortion-rights groups think, &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Brush Up on Birth Control</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/2390205</link>
 <description>I am so grateful for all the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/What%27s+the+Right+Birth+Control+For+You&quot;&gt;different kinds of birth control&lt;/a&gt; on the market. Since women have a variety of needs, we&#039;re lucky to have such an array of methods to choose from to fit all of our lifestyles. So let&#039;s see what you know about some popular forms of contraception.&lt;style&gt;input.form-submit{color:#000;}&lt;/style&gt;&lt;div id=&#039;spi_tabs_container&#039;&gt;&lt;div id=&#039;spi_tabs_top&#039;&gt;&lt;div id=&#039;spi_tabs_topL&#039;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div id=&#039;spi_tabs_topR&#039;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class=panel&gt;&lt;table class=nospace width=&#039;100%&#039;&gt;&lt;tr&gt;&lt;td style=&#039;text-align:left;padding-top:5px&#039; valign=bottom&gt;&lt;h3&gt;Question 6&lt;/h3&gt;&lt;/td&gt;&lt;td style=&#039;text-align:right;&#039; valign=bottom&gt;6 of 6&lt;/td&gt;&lt;/tr&gt;&lt;/table&gt;&lt;table class=nospace width=&#039;100%&#039;&gt;&lt;tr&gt;&lt;td width=40% style=&#039;text-align:left; line-height:14px; padding-right:5px; padding-top: 2px;&#039; valign=top&gt;When using a diaphragm, what do you have to do after intercourse in order to prevent pregnancy?&lt;h4 style=&#039;padding-top:5px&#039;&gt;The Correct Answer:&lt;/h4&gt;&lt;h5 style=&#039;padding-bottom:5px&#039;&gt;Keep it inside you for at least six hours.&lt;/h5&gt;After intercourse, you must leave the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/621438&quot;&gt;diaphragm&lt;/a&gt; inside you for up to six hours. This is to allow the spermicide to kill all the sperm.

 <title>Do Tell: Have You Ever Had a Pregnancy Scare? </title>

Since we know all about the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/birth+control&quot; &gt;various methods of contraception&lt;/a&gt; out there, we also know that none of them are 100 percent effective. If you’re having sex, there’s always a slim possibility you could get pregnant. And if you have a regular period, missing it for even a day could send you rushing out for pregnancy tests. So ladies, in your attempts to avoid it, have you ever had a pregnancy scare?&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Myths About the Pill: Last Five</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/2183799</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;I hope I set your mind at ease by debunking the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/2070618&quot; &gt;first five myths about the pill&lt;/a&gt; yesterday. If you&#039;ve been waiting to hear more, check the &lt;a href=&quot;http://contraception.about.com/od/contraceptionmyths/tp/pillmyths.htm&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;last five&lt;/a&gt;:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol start=6&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/41_2008/pill.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;371&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;b&gt;Women who smoke cannot use the pill:&lt;/b&gt; It&#039;s a fact that if a woman smokes cigarettes and uses the pill, she has a higher risk of having a stroke or developing blood clots. If she&#039;s 35 or older, the risk is even greater. A doctor will not prescribe regular dose combination pills, but a woman who smokes can take &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1115464&quot; &gt;lower dose hormones or estrogen-free pills&lt;/a&gt; instead. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;b&gt;The most risky time to miss a pill is in the middle of the pack:&lt;/b&gt; If you happen to miss a pill, the most risky time is actually at the beginning or the end of the pack. That&#039;s because a woman needs to take seven consecutive pills in order to prevent ovulation and it&#039;s actually possible to miss the next seven days without the risk of pregnancy. But if a woman misses pills toward the end of the pack, she may not have enough hormones inside her to prevent ovulation the next month. The bottom line here though is to try your hardest not to &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/371911&quot; &gt;miss any pills&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To see the rest, &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Myths About the Pill: First Five</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/2070618</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;Just about every woman I know is on, or has been on, the pill. And even if it&#039;s not your preferred method of birth control, we can all agree on two things: it prevents us from getting pregnant, and it can regulate our periods. I&#039;m sure you&#039;ve heard other &quot;facts&quot; about the pill too, but not all of them are true. So here&#039;s a list of the top five &lt;a href=&quot;http://contraception.about.com/od/contraceptionmyths/tp/pillmyths.htm&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;myths about birth control pills&lt;/a&gt;:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/40_2008/pill_1.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;389&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;b&gt;The pill makes you gain weight:&lt;/b&gt; Some women may put on a few when taking the pill, but research shows that the pill isn&#039;t directly the cause. The estrogen contained in the pill can cause a bloated feeling, but not an actual weight gain. The progestin in the pill may increase a woman&#039;s appetite, so she&#039;ll eat more and gain weight, but it&#039;s because she&#039;s increasing her calorie consumption. The pill may also cause water retention, but switching to a lower dose pill often helps.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;b&gt;You should take a break from the pill once in a while:&lt;/b&gt; While it seems like a good idea to give your body a rest from the pill, it isn&#039;t necessary. Birth control pills are considered safe and they even offer you &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1844092&quot; &gt;health benefits, such as a decreased risk of ovarian cancer&lt;/a&gt; if you&#039;ve been on them for a while. In fact, &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1983035&quot; &gt;occasional breaks&lt;/a&gt; can actually cause problems. Remember all the side effects you had when you first started the pill? Well, they&#039;re likely to show up again as soon as you go back on the pill — hardly sounds worth it to me. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To see the other three, &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Health Benefits of the Pill</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1844092</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/37_2008/pill.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;307&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;I&#039;m sure many of you are &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1880058&quot; &gt;on the pill for various different reasons&lt;/a&gt;, but most of you have been on it &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1969990&quot; &gt;for years&lt;/a&gt;, so have you ever asked yourself if you were doing more harm than good? If so, and if you&#039;re concerned about the health risks of taking the pill, check out this chart below. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;table border=1 id=&quot;space&quot;&gt;
&lt;tr bgcolor=#FFCCFF&gt;
&lt;td&gt;Health Benefits&lt;/td&gt;
&lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;tr&gt;
&lt;td&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Studies have shown that being on the pill for more than two years can decrease your risk for &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22100862/&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;ovarian cancer&lt;/a&gt; by 70 percent, and &lt;a href=&quot;http://health.nytimes.com/ref/health/healthguide/esn-contraception-ess.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;endometrial cancer&lt;/a&gt; by 50 percent (great news). &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The occurrence of benign ovarian tumors is also decreased.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Higher dose pills can decrease the development of ovarian cysts and fibroids.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/tr&gt;
&lt;/table&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To see the rest of this list, &lt;/p&gt;

Some women I know have been on the pill since high school, while others only tried it out recently. What about you? When did you first start taking the pill? &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>When It Comes to Your Period, Is This Normal? </title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/36_2008/hmm.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;247&quot; width=&quot;250&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;For most women, getting our &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1102305&quot; &gt;period&lt;/a&gt; is something we&#039;ve come to terms with. While it doesn&#039;t leave us feeling all that great, it&#039;s something we can&#039;t change, at least right now! &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Your period comes and goes every month, and you probably don&#039;t give it much thought, aside from putting tampons on your grocery list, so take this quiz to make sure you know what should and shouldn&#039;t be happening to your body during that time of the month.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Do Tell: How Do You Keep Track of Your Period?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1681241</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;I&#039;m sure many of you are so in tune with your bodies that you know exactly when Aunt Flo is going to pay you a visit. &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/36_2008/1.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left image preview&quot; height=&quot;372&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Some women count days and keep track of their periods on their calendar, some women record the details of their cycles on a &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/442911&quot; &gt;fertility awareness chart&lt;/a&gt;, and others just know based on their birth control (how many pills they have left in their pack or how long they&#039;ve been wearing their Nuvaring). Of course PMS and the responses our bodies give us are a great indication (did someone say sore boobs?), but how do you keep track of your cycle? Is it something you monitor religiously, or something you do every once in a while when you remember?&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>What&#039;s the Deal With Depo SubQ Provera 104? </title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1857618</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;I&#039;m sure many of you have a &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1614848&quot; &gt;form of birth control that you love&lt;/a&gt;, and for those that swear by the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/542383&quot; &gt;Depo shot&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/35_2008/hmm.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left image preview&quot; height=&quot;286&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;you might be interested in learning that there&#039;s now a lower-hormone dose version called Depo SubQ Provera 104. It&#039;s still &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.depo-subqprovera104.com/frequently.aspx&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;estrogen free&lt;/a&gt;, but instead of &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.drugs.com/pro/depo-provera.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;400 mg&lt;/a&gt; of Medroxyprogesterone acetate (the hormone) per shot, it only contains &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.drugs.com/pro/depo-subq-provera-104.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;104mg&lt;/a&gt; (that&#039;s &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.depo-subqprovera104.com/lesshormone.aspx&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;31 percent less&lt;/a&gt;). You still need to go to your gynecologist every three months to get the shot, but it&#039;s just as effective as regular Depo-Provera. Even though it contains less hormones, it can still cause &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.depo-subqprovera104.com/sideeffects.aspx&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;side effects&lt;/a&gt; such as weight gain, loss of calcium (which puts you at risk for osteoporosis), and irregular spotting. Also, a disadvantage with Depo SubQ Provera 104, just like with original Depo, is that it may take a while for you to become pregnant after discontinuing the shot (could take as much as one year or more).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This method would be great for someone looking for estrogen-free birth control, or for a woman who doesn&#039;t want to pop a pill every day. Unlike other methods of hormonal birth control, this isn&#039;t an option that&#039;s recommended for long-term use (more than two years), because of the loss of calcium it may cause. If this sounds like something you&#039;re interested in, I&#039;d make an appointment to talk to your &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/gynecologist&quot; &gt;gyno&lt;/a&gt;. &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Why Are You on the Pill?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1880058</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;With so many &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1115464&quot; &gt;different kids of pills&lt;/a&gt; out there, it&#039;s just a matter of time before finding one that&#039;s &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/What%27s+the+Right+Birth+Control+For+You&quot; &gt;right for you&lt;/a&gt;. Now some women are on the pill for the good old-fashioned reason of preventing pregnancy, but other women are on it to clear up their skin or to have lighter periods, know what day and time they&#039;ll get it, or perhaps they like the option of skipping it all together. This hilarious &lt;a href=&quot;http://current.com/items/89157733_target_women_birth_control&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;video&lt;/a&gt; pretty much sums up the new rationale for being on the pill, but tell me, all you pill-goers out there, why are you on it? &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Is the Pill to Blame?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1864488</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/0/3362/33_2008/pill.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right outline image preview&quot; width=&quot;313&quot; height=&quot;313&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;The pill&#039;s side effects have had a bad wrap for quite a while now — weight gain, mood swings, blood clots, etc. — but now researchers are adding poor judgment when it comes to finding a mate to that list. We all know about pheromones, but MHC (major histocompatibility complex) genes are another big player when it comes to compatibility. Apparently the best mates are those with a different MHC smell than you, but new research found that women on the pill are actually attracted to men with &lt;i&gt;matching&lt;/i&gt; MHC.&lt;br /&gt;
According to &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.livescience.com/culture/080812-contraceptive-smell.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Live Science,&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;blockquote&gt;MHC genes churn out substances that tell the body whether a cell is a native or an invader. When individuals with different MHC genes mate, their offspring&#039;s immune systems can recognize a broader range of foreign cells, making them more fit.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;
&lt;p&gt; To make things even more complicated, matching MHC can cause fertility problems and the potential for the relationship to dissolve if the woman goes off the pill since her order detection will change. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;As someone that&#039;s been on the pill before, and had a string of incompatible mates, I can&#039;t say if it was pure coincidence or if the pill was actually to blame. What do you all think? Does this research have any merit when it comes to your personal life or do you think it&#039;s all happen circumstance?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.gettyimages.com&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Source&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Condom Ads: Too Much or Straight to the Point?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1862867</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/0/3362/33_2008/ManixUltraThin1.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left outline image preview&quot; width=&quot;375&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;I just came across these &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.bestweekever.tv/2008/08/12/ad-wizards-how-close-is-too-close/&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Manix ads&lt;/a&gt; for super-thin condoms. While practicing safe sex, these rubbers allow you to be &lt;i&gt;so close&lt;/i&gt; to your partner that you actually become one. Now I&#039;m all for ads that promote safe sex, even if they push the envelope, but my first reaction to seeing these was &lt;i&gt;T-M-I!&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Birth Control Pills: How Do They Compare?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1115464</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;I don&#039;t know about you, but just about every woman I know has been on or is taking birth control pills. &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/32_2008/pill.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left image preview&quot; height=&quot;285&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;There are so many &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.drugs.com/ppa/contraceptives-oral-combination-products.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;different brands&lt;/a&gt; out there and they all offer different amounts of hormones, so I made this handy chart to help you figure out  &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/What%27s+the+Right+Birth+Control+For+You&quot; &gt;which one may be right for you.&lt;/a&gt; These pills are combination pills, which means they contain a type of estrogen (ethinyl estradiol), and a type of progestin (levonorgestrel, desogestrel, norethindrone). The pills with the least amount of ethinyl estradiol tend to offer the least amount of side effects, and the ones that offer the same hormonal dosages each day (monophasic pills) will help to ease PMS symptoms (mainly mood swings). With so many different options out there, it&#039;s important to know what&#039;s actually in these pills, since every woman&#039;s body reacts differently to hormonal birth control. Check out my chart below: &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;center&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;table border=1 id=&quot;space&quot;&gt;

 <title>What You Should Know Before Implementing Implanon</title>

The pill, condoms, the Nuvaring, and IUCs are pretty popular, but you don&#039;t hear too much about &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/571622&quot; &gt;Implanon&lt;/a&gt;. Let&#039;s see what you know about it.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Tips For Sex in the Car </title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1740200</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;Whether you think it&#039;s sexy to get it on in the backseat of your boyfriend&#039;s car or it&#039;s the only private place you can find because you both live with roommates, it can be a little awkward. So here are some tips to make your automobile makeout session as comfy and pleasurable as possible:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/32_2008/car.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;304&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Park in a secluded area. No, I&#039;m not saying you should drive to some sketchy parking lot or abandoned factory; just choose a place that&#039;s private so you don&#039;t have to worry about unexpected people walking by and disturbing your alone time.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li style=&quot;width:550px;&quot;&gt;Bring a blanket along so you can lay it on the seat. Not only will it make you feel more like you&#039;re at home in a real bed, but it&#039;ll also prevent your skin from sticking to the seats if they&#039;re made of leather. It&#039;s also nice to bring another blanket or sheet along in case you get cold or if you need to cover yourself up quickly (just in case your secluded place is not secluded enough!).&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Have your birth control ready, if you need it. Stopping to put on a condom tends to put a hold on the mood anyway, but it&#039;ll be even worse if you have to stop and look around to figure out where they are. So before you start getting busy, put the condoms in the backseat pocket or in the side door.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Make a CD or playlist on your iPod of romantic tunes to play. This may help to get you in the mood and may make you feel less like you&#039;re in a car.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

 <title>What Birth Control Method Do You Recommend?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1614848</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;I love my girlfriends, but not just because we have fun together, because they offer great advice, too. We can talk about love, sex, friendship, and of course, how to stay pregnancy free! They&#039;ve used an array of birth control methods, including &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/655880&quot; &gt;Yaz&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1664317&quot; &gt;Mirena&lt;/a&gt;, and the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1614851&quot; &gt;Nuvaring&lt;/a&gt;, but they each say I should be on &lt;i&gt;their&lt;/i&gt; preferred method because they love it so much.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/30_2008/BC.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;center image preview&quot; height=&quot;389&quot; width=&quot;470&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Since finding the right birth control can take some trial and error, hearing recommendations from friends can be a great starting point. So ladies, what kind of birth control would you recommend? And do you have any nightmare experiences with a specific one that you&#039;d tell people to avoid like the plaque? &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>You Asked: I&#039;m Dreaming About My Ex!</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1750860</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/0/3362/27_2008/sleeping.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left outline image preview&quot; width=&quot;337&quot; height=&quot;507&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Dear Sugar,&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have been in wonderful committed relationship going on three years, but recently I&#039;ve been having very vivid sexual dreams about my ex-boyfriend. I think this might be linked to the fact that I just started birth control and my libido has virtually vanished. I long for the earlier times when sex was uninhibited and exciting like it was with my ex. Every time I have these dreams, I am aware that I&#039;m in a relationship, but choose to cheat with my ex anyway. My boyfriend and I have always had a healthy sex life so what do you think these dreams mean and should I be worried? — Dreaming Deirdre &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>What to Do If You Are a Victim of Rape</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/774894</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;Any type of &lt;a href=&quot;http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/healthy/crisis/314.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;forced sexual assault&lt;/a&gt; that you don&#039;t consent to is considered &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/774958&quot; &gt;rape&lt;/a&gt;. It&#039;s a &lt;a href=&quot;http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/healthy/crisis/314.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;crime&lt;/a&gt; if the attacker is a stranger, if you know your attacker (85 percent of women do), if you&#039;re related to them, or even if they are your spouse. It&#039;s a crime even if you were drinking, doing drugs, &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1653059&quot; &gt;given drugs&lt;/a&gt;, or too out of it to say no or fight back. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you are the victim of a rape, here&#039;s what you should do:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/27_2008/sad.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;232&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Get to a close, safe place. &lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Immediately go to a hospital or ER. Don&#039;t shower or change your clothes. The doctor will examine you and collect evidence including pieces of hair, clothing fibers, saliva, and semen to be placed in a rape kit that may be later used by police or in a court of law.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;If you are using &lt;a href=&quot; http://dearsugar.com/435951&quot; &gt;hormonal birth control&lt;/a&gt; or an &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1704263&quot; &gt;IUC&lt;/a&gt; then pregnancy is not likely, but if you&#039;re not, the doctor may recommend you take emergency birth control (&lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/393994&quot; &gt;Plan B&lt;/a&gt;).&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Chances are that the rapist did not use a condom, so the doctor will most likely test you for &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/stis&quot; &gt;STIs&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Since being sexually assaulted can have huge emotional and psychological ramifications, a therapist may be recommended. It&#039;s a good idea to talk to someone about your experience to help you cope with the strong feelings of sadness, disbelief, fear, guilt, and anxiety you may have.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Unfortunately in this day and age, it&#039;s necessary for young women to know and talk about rape, so do your fellow females a favor and pass this important information onto the women in your life that you care about. &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>You, Me, and IUCs: It&#039;s Quiz Time!</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1704263</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/24_2008/iuc.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left image preview&quot; height=&quot;311&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;A little while back, I told you about IUCs, which are a kind of long-term &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/What%27s+the+Right+Birth+Control+For+You&quot; &gt;birth control&lt;/a&gt; that are becoming really popular since many women don&#039;t want to have to remember to take their &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/655880&quot; &gt;pill&lt;/a&gt; every day or interrupt lovemaking to slip on a condom. IUCs allow for spontaneous intimacy and are over 99 percent effective at preventing pregnancy. There&#039;s a lot more to know, so let&#039;s see what you remember!&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>How Well Do You Know the Nuvaring?</title>

What they don&#039;t love is having to remember to take their pill every single day — that&#039;s where the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/455862&quot; &gt;Nuvaring&lt;/a&gt; comes in! I know I&#039;ve told you a lot about this form of BC over the past few months, so let&#039;s see how much you really know about the Nuvaring.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>You, Me, and IUCs: Mirena</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1664317</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/22_2008/mire.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;229&quot; width=&quot;292&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;So yesterday I told you about &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1640034&quot; &gt;one type of IUC, called Paragard&lt;/a&gt;, which is made of plastic and copper. Well &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.mirena-us.com/index.jsp&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Mirena&lt;/a&gt; is another type, also made out of plastic, but this one contains hormones, just like the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/birth+control+pill&quot; &gt;Pill.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you&#039;re interested in using birth control that you don&#039;t have to think about, Mirena may be right for you, but check out the pros and cons before you make any decisions. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;It is &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.mirena-us.com/whatismirena.html?C=&amp;amp;c=&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;99.9 percent effective&lt;/a&gt; at preventing pregnancy and works for up to five years. Once inserted into your uterus, it&#039;s effective immediately.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/td&gt;
&lt;td&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Many women complain that getting Mirena inserted is extremely painful.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/td&gt;

 <title>You, Me, and IUCs: ParaGard</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1640034</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;If you&#039;re looking for a new method of birth control, have you ever thought about an &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/birth-control/iud-4245.htm&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;IUC&lt;/a&gt;, or intrauterine contraceptive (previously called an IUD)? &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/22_2008/IUC.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;203&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There are two brands of IUCs available in the US: &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.paragard.com/&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;ParaGard&lt;/a&gt; and Mirena, but let&#039;s discuss ParaGard first. It&#039;s made out of plastic but has copper wire wrapped around it. That &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.webmd.com/sex/birth-control/intrauterine-device-iud-for-birth-control&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;copper is toxic to sperm&lt;/a&gt; and once inserted, it makes the uterus and fallopian tubes produce fluid, which kills the sperm. But just like all kinds of &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/Birth+Control&quot; &gt;birth control,&lt;/a&gt; there are good and bad things about using ParaGard. Want to know what they are? Then &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Where Do You Stand? Who Should Pay For Birth Control</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1603988</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;If you&#039;re &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/dating&quot; &gt;dating&lt;/a&gt; or in a relationship, chances are you&#039;re having sex and using &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/What%27s+the+Right+Birth+Control+For+You&quot; &gt;birth control&lt;/a&gt; (unless you&#039;re trying to have a baby). Although birth control is absolutely worth every penny, it&#039;s not exactly cheap. &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/20_2008/pill.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;427&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Depending on the method you&#039;re using, you can end up spending $15 to $30 a month — $180 to $360 a year, which is no small chunk of change no matter how much money you make.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So where do you stand on who should pay for it? Some of my friends split the cost evenly with their significant other. I also have a few friends who have a deal that whoever uses it or wears it pays for it; the women pay for the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/455862&quot; &gt;Nuvaring&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/birth+control+pill&quot; &gt;the pill&lt;/a&gt;, the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/the+patch&quot; &gt;patch&lt;/a&gt;, or the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1611064&quot; &gt;IUD&lt;/a&gt;, and the guys pay for the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/871812&quot; &gt;condoms&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So who pays for it in your relationship? You? Your partner? Both of you? Or do your insurance companies foot the bill for birth control?&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Group Urging FDA to Pull Birth Control Patch </title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1614822</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;If any of you ladies use &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/505720&quot; &gt;Orth-Evra (the patch)&lt;/a&gt;, I may have some bad &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24524035/&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;news&lt;/a&gt; for you. A US advocacy group has filed a petition urging the FDA to pull the patch from the market. Why? Studies have found that using the patch can increase a woman&#039;s chances of dangerous &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.orthoevra.com/orthoevra/safety.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;blood clots&lt;/a&gt;. &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/19_2008/atch.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;150&quot; width=&quot;228&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;These clots can trigger life-threatening heart attacks or strokes, especially if you are a &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1092751&quot; &gt;smoker&lt;/a&gt;. Of course the risk of blood clots is common with all &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/435951&quot; &gt;hormonal birth control&lt;/a&gt;, but clots are twice as likely to occur in women who are using the patch. This type of birth control can expose a woman to 60 percent more estrogen than birth control pills, which is pretty scary. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In its defense, the FDA feels that the risk of developing a clot is low — for every 10,000 women who use hormonal birth control for one year, three to five of them will develop a blood clot. Also, Ortho Women’s Health &amp;amp; Urology, the Johnson &amp;amp; Johnson division that makes the patch, believes that there are risks and benefits to using the patch, just like there are with other types of hormonal birth control. But it seems the risk is higher with the patch.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This makes me a little wary; how about you? If you use Ortho-Evra or are thinking about using it, talk to your gynecologist and get his or her advice. There may be a better &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/What%27s+the+Right+Birth+Control+For+You&quot; &gt;birth control option&lt;/a&gt; out there for you.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>The Connection Between IUDs and Cancer</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1611064</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;As far as long-term birth control goes, &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/496749&quot; &gt;IUDs&lt;/a&gt; aren&#039;t too popular in the US — only 2 percent of women who use contraception have one. &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/19_2008/iud.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left image preview&quot; height=&quot;300&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;With that said, I guess many people don&#039;t know about all the &lt;i&gt;benefits&lt;/i&gt; of an IUD!  Once it&#039;s inserted into your uterus, it offers &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1115063&quot; &gt;protection from unplanned pregnancies&lt;/a&gt; for up to five years. That means they&#039;re a great choice for women who know that it&#039;ll be a while until they&#039;re ready to start a family, or if they&#039;ve already had children and aren&#039;t planning on having anymore. Plus IUDs are 99.9 percent effective. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Here&#039;s some more great &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.reuters.com/article/healthNews/idUSN0651615220080507?feedType=RSS&amp;amp;feedName=healthNews&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;news&lt;/a&gt;. Using an IUD may also help protect women from endometrial cancer, a type of cancer that affects the lining of the uterus. It can reduce a woman&#039;s risk by 40 percent, which is similar to the cancer-preventing qualities of &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/birth+control+pill&quot; &gt;oral contraceptives&lt;/a&gt;. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Dear&#039;s Advice:&lt;/b&gt; If you&#039;re interested in using an IUD, talk to your &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1520487&quot; &gt;gynecologist&lt;/a&gt;. You should know that some women experience irregular bleeding or pain. Also, IUDs don&#039;t protect against &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1127063&quot; &gt;STIs&lt;/a&gt;, so they&#039;re only a good option for women who are in a monogomous relationship with someone they know is disease free. &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Lybrel Birth Control Pills: No Period?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1535657</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;A while back, I discussed whether or not it was safe to get only &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/467042&quot; &gt;four periods a year&lt;/a&gt; by using Seasonale birth control pills. &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/16_2008/Picture%202.png&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;right image preview&quot; height=&quot;129&quot; width=&quot;309&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;It is safe, and here&#039;s why: When you take the week of sugar pills while on birth control, the period you get isn&#039;t a real period, since the hormones prevent you from ovulating and you&#039;re not releasing an egg. It&#039;s actually a &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.lybrel.com/works/&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;pill period&lt;/a&gt;, and it is your body&#039;s reaction to the withdrawal of hormones. Having a pill period every month is &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.womentowomen.com/sexualityandfertility/faq3-isseasonalesafe.aspx&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;just as safe as having one every three months&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;OK, but what about having no periods at all? The birth control pill &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.lybrel.com/&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Lybrel&lt;/a&gt; is all over this idea. For the details, &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Dear Poll: Do You Believe Pregnancy Can Be an Accident?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1535948</link>
 <description>&lt;!-- no strip poll --&gt;&lt;div id=&quot;epoll-view-1535948&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;script type=&quot;text/javascript&quot;&gt;new Ajax.Request(&#039;/epoll/view/1535948&#039;,{method:&#039;get&#039;,onSuccess:function(transport){var epoll=$(&#039;epoll-view-1535948&#039;);epoll.update(transport.responseText);}});&lt;/script&gt;&lt;noscript&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&#039;ve been hearing about many accidental pregnancies lately — newlyweds saying their bun in the oven was a surprise or new parents claiming their second pregnancy was a fluke. But part of me thinks that&#039;s an excuse so people won&#039;t judge them for conceiving so soon into their marriage or after giving birth. In this day and age when there are so many &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/What%27s+the+Right+Birth+Control+For+You&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;birth control options&lt;/a&gt; available, it seems close to impossible to have an accidental pregnancy if you&#039;re using them correctly. Of course there&#039;s always the chance of getting preggers if you&#039;re irresponsible about taking &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/the+pill&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;the pill&lt;/a&gt; or if your &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/387336&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;condom breaks&lt;/a&gt;, so ladies, what I want to know is, do you believe the accidental pregnancy excuse?
&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/0/3362/15_2008/accident.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;outline center image preview&quot; width=&quot;464&quot; height=&quot;368&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Do Tell: Have You Had an Embarrassing Moment at the Gyno? </title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1520487</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl0/0/3362/14_2008/200242875-001.preview.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left image preview&quot; height=&quot;450&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Even at its best, a trip to the gynecologist is usually pretty uncomfortable and can be down right awkward.  Since going to a doctor’s appointment already makes most of us feel vulnerable, being naked in front of a doctor only makes things even more nerve-wracking.  Anxiety, discomfort, nudity, and &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1052436&quot; &gt;discussing sex and birth control&lt;/a&gt; are just about the perfect equation for an embarrassing moment to arise.  So ladies, do tell, have you ever had an embarrassing mishap at the gyno? &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>What&#039;s the Right Birth Control For You? Part Three</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1115683</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl0/1/12981/11_2008/B3.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;image preview&quot; height=&quot;179&quot; width=&quot;550&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Birth control can be really annoying, but if you&#039;re sexually active, it&#039;s necessary if you want to prevent yourself from becoming pregnant or contracting an &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/STIs&quot; &gt;STI&lt;/a&gt;. I&#039;ve talked about some &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1114991&quot; &gt;common forms of birth control&lt;/a&gt; and some &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1115063&quot; &gt;less common forms&lt;/a&gt;, but there are still more options.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;If you&#039;re sexually active, choosing the right method to prevent pregnancy and protect you from STIs can be a tough decision. I&#039;ve already told you about some &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1114991&quot; &gt;popular methods of birth control&lt;/a&gt;, but here are some other options you may want to consider. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;There&#039;s been a lot of &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1112764&quot; &gt;news&lt;/a&gt; about &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/STIs&quot; &gt;STIs&lt;/a&gt; lately. We all know it&#039;s important to &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/1109873&quot; &gt;protect yourself against disease&lt;/a&gt;, but it&#039;s also important to protect yourself against pregnancy if having a baby isn&#039;t part of your immediate plan. Maybe you already have a method that works for you, but in case you&#039;re unhappy and want to explore other options, I&#039;ve put together a three-part series on finding the right method.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Want to see part one? Then &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Do Tell: What Are Your Embarrassing Birth Control Stories?</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1052436</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl0/1/12981/11_2008/woman.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left image preview&quot; height=&quot;539&quot; width=&quot;286&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;If you have sex, you have to deal with birth control. It may not be the funnest part about being sexual, but it&#039;s definitely necessary if you want to prevent &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/Pregnancy&quot; &gt;pregnancy&lt;/a&gt; and the transmission of &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/STIs&quot; &gt;STIs.&lt;/a&gt; You&#039;ve got to have talks with your partner about it, you have to go to the gynecologist or pharmacy to get &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/Birth+Control&quot; &gt;birth control&lt;/a&gt;, and then of course you have to master how to use it. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;SO during that trial and error period, do you have any embarrassing stories? Maybe your mom found &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/condom&quot; &gt;condoms&lt;/a&gt; in your purse or perhaps your &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tag/nuvaring&quot; &gt;Nuvaring&lt;/a&gt; popped out during sex. Whatever happened may have been traumatic at that moment, but I&#039;m sure you&#039;re laughing about it now (at least I hope you are!). Since it&#039;s happened to the best of us, do tell ladies, what is your most embarrassing birth control story? &lt;/p&gt;

We take pills for pain, for allergies, to prevent pregnancy, to regulate our periods, and when we have a cold. Some of these medications can affect our sex lives though. Want to see which ones? <title>Do Tell: How Far Should Teens Go to Prevent Unwanted Pregnancy? </title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/1020168</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl0/0/3362/06_2008/stk323153rkn.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;left outline image preview&quot; height=&quot;420&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;A new initiative is being pushed in the UK to encourage teenage girls to use longer-lasting methods of contraception such as implants, injections, and coils, according to a recent article in the &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=512573&amp;amp;in_page_id=1766&amp;amp;ito=1490&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Daily Mail.&lt;/a&gt;  Since so many people use condoms incorrectly and/or forget to take their pill, the Department of Health believes teenagers are safer using an alternative method to prevent pregnancy, but will that deter them from using condoms all together? Will this increase their chances of contracting &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/STIs&quot; &gt;STIs&lt;/a&gt;?  Of course being safe and protected against disease as well as pregnancy is key, so do tell: Do you think this initiative is a good idea or do you think it runs the risk of backfiring? &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Lesson Learned: Always Be Prepared</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/981988</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;As you know, I&#039;m a huge fan of birth control. Apparently so is this guy . . .&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;center&gt;&lt;object width=&quot;425&quot; height=&quot;355&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;param name=&quot;movie&quot; value=&quot;http://www.youtube.com/v/KwDXCGXtBKY&amp;amp;rel=1&quot;&gt;&lt;/param&gt;
&lt;param name=&quot;wmode&quot; value=&quot;transparent&quot;&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;embed src=&quot;http://www.youtube.com/v/KwDXCGXtBKY&amp;amp;rel=1&quot; type=&quot;application/x-shockwave-flash&quot; wmode=&quot;transparent&quot; width=&quot;425&quot; height=&quot;355&quot;&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;/center&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Dear&#039;s Advice:&lt;/b&gt; Keeping condoms in your car or wallet may not be such a good idea as extreme temperatures could diminish their effectiveness. Instead, keep condoms in your nightstand or purse in a &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/686837&quot; &gt;cute condom case&lt;/a&gt; so you&#039;re always prepared.  &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Sex Myth: Day 14</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/870853</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;If you are not on hormonal birth control such as the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/nuvaring&quot; &gt;Nuvaring&lt;/a&gt; or the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/756381&quot; &gt;Pill&lt;/a&gt;, it&#039;s generally believed that all women ovulate on day 14 of their menstrual cycle. So if you got your period on the first of the month, you would ovulate 14 days later, on day 15. This rule is &lt;i&gt;not&lt;/i&gt; necessarily correct for all women, and is based on the assumption that a woman&#039;s body follows a perfect 28-day cycle. We know this is not true for all women, and since ovulation can be delayed due to many reasons, including &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/336888&quot; &gt;stress&lt;/a&gt;, this myth of Day 14 can cause many unwanted pregnancies.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl0/1/12981/01_2008/day-14.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;center image preview&quot; height=&quot;363&quot; width=&quot;400&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;How do you know when you&#039;re &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/ovulation-signs/AN01521&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;ovulating&lt;/a&gt;? To find out &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>A Great Reason to Use Birth Control</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/845913</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;Ah &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/birth%20control&quot; &gt;birth control&lt;/a&gt;. It&#039;s one of my favorite topics because it&#039;s such an important part of a woman&#039;s life. As if you didn&#039;t already have enough reasons to slip on &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/837500&quot; &gt;condoms&lt;/a&gt; and pop your &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/756381&quot; &gt;pills&lt;/a&gt;, this commercial from Denmark wants to illustrate a very good point. Unprotected sex can equal kids, which can equal messes and destruction galore so thanks for the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/831827&quot; &gt;reminder&lt;/a&gt;! Even though kids are totally adorable and fun, I am so not ready for all this!&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Male Birth Control Pill May Be on Its Way</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/845904</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;There&#039;s been talk about a &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/14577975/detail.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;male birth control pill&lt;/a&gt; that guys can take to stop their sperm production and prevent pregnancy. It&#039;s reversible, just like the female pill, so when a man stops taking it, he&#039;ll begin producing sperm again. This video states that the man pill has positive side effects for guys that might entice them like increased muscle and bone mass (we&#039;re talking all around body muscle, not his man muscle). Right now, this male pill is being tested on humans, but only for its muscle-building benefits. Researchers say that we&#039;ll have to wait at least 5 to 10 years for a version that will prevent pregnancy.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;center&gt;	&lt;div style=&#039;width:455px&#039; id=&quot;spi_tabs_container&quot;&gt;
	   &lt;div id=&quot;spi_tabs_top&quot;&gt;
		   &lt;div id=&quot;spi_tabs_topL&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
		   &lt;div id=&quot;spi_tabs_topR&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
	   &lt;/div&gt;
	   &lt;div class=&quot;panel  chatter_chatter fbceleb &quot; &gt;
			   &lt;center&gt;	&lt;script type=&quot;text/javascript&quot; src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/static/js/swfobject.js&quot;&gt;&lt;/script&gt;
	&lt;p style=margin:0px;padding:0px id=&quot;player_845927&quot;&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer&quot;&gt;Get Flash&lt;/a&gt; to see this player.&lt;/p&gt;
	&lt;script type=&quot;text/javascript&quot;&gt;
	var so845927 = new SWFObject(&#039;http://images.teamsugar.com/static/flash/mediaplayer.swf&#039;,&#039;mpl&#039;,&#039;425&#039;,&#039;350&#039;,&#039;7&#039;);
	so845927.addParam(&#039;allowfullscreen&#039;,&#039;true&#039;);
	so845927.addVariable(&quot;file&quot;,&#039;845927.flv&#039;);
	so845927.addVariable(&#039;height&#039;,&#039;350&#039;);
	so845927.addVariable(&#039;image&#039;,&#039;http://images.teamsugar.com/media/cooked/thumbs/845927.jpg&#039;);
	so845927.addVariable(&#039;width&#039;,&#039;425&#039;);

	so845927.write(&#039;player_845927&#039;);
	&lt;/script&gt;		   &lt;/center&gt;
	   &lt;/div&gt;
	   &lt;div id=&quot;spi_tabs_bot&quot;&gt;
		   &lt;div id=&quot;spi_tabs_botL&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
		   &lt;div id=&quot;spi_tabs_botR&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
	   &lt;/div&gt;
	&lt;/div&gt;	&lt;/center&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A part of me feels like the male pill is a great idea, because it&#039;s really not fair that so many women are the ones in charge of preventing pregnancy. Besides &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/condom&quot; &gt;condoms&lt;/a&gt;, most other forms of contraception like &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/birth+control+pill&quot; &gt;the Pill&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/ortho-evra&quot; &gt;the Patch&lt;/a&gt;, the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/455862&quot; &gt;Nuvaring&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/571622&quot; &gt;implants&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/621438&quot; &gt;diaphragms&lt;/a&gt;, and &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/depo-provera&quot; &gt;the Shot&lt;/a&gt;, all involve our effort and our bodies. I think it&#039;s about time that a male birth control option was available so we can share the responsibility.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;On the other hand, another part of me wonders if I&#039;d even trust that the guy I was with would be mature enough to remember to take the pill everyday and at the same time. I can just picture it. I&#039;m making out with a guy and he says, &quot;Don&#039;t worry baby, I&#039;m on the pill.&quot; I don&#039;t think I&#039;d be 100 percent convinced.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So ladies, what do you think of the male birth control pill? Would you want birth control to be in the hands of your man? Do you think guys would even consider taking hormones?&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Sex Myth: If the Woman Is on Top, She Can&#039;t Get Pregnant</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/840352</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;I just recently saw that hilarious movie &lt;a href=&quot;http://buzzsugar.com/284477&quot; &gt;Knocked Up&lt;/a&gt;, and I wanted to set something straight. When the guys were talking, one of them said something about how &lt;i&gt;everyone knows&lt;/i&gt; that a girl can&#039;t get pregnant if she&#039;s on top while having sex. &lt;span class=&quot;inline left&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/users/1/12981/48_2007/woman_0.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;outline left image preview&quot; height=&quot;333&quot; width=&quot;300&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;According to his belief, gravity makes sure the sperm doesn&#039;t get to the egg.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ladies, listen up, if you didn&#039;t already know this, he is completely incorrect. Anytime a man ejaculates inside a woman, the semen goes into her vagina and those sperm use all their might and determination to swim upstream. If even just one of them gets to your egg to fertilize it, boom — you&#039;re pregnant regardless of what position you have sex in. Unprotected sex can equal unplanned pregnancy.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you&#039;re not ready to be a mom, use a consistent and effective form of birth control (the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/383563&quot; &gt;Pull and Pray Method&lt;/a&gt; is &lt;i&gt;not&lt;/i&gt; a good option). Using condoms, an &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/496749&quot; &gt;IUD&lt;/a&gt;, or hormonal birth control such as the pill or &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/455862&quot; &gt;NuvaRing&lt;/a&gt; are great options. Find what works for you and stick with it.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Condoms: Male vs. Female</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/837500</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/680698&quot; &gt;Condoms&lt;/a&gt; are an amazing invention, aren&#039;t they? Not only are they effective at helping you &lt;b&gt;not&lt;/b&gt; get pregnant, but also they help prevent you from contracting an &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/tags/STIs&quot; &gt;STI.&lt;/a&gt; &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.webmd.com/sex/birth-control/birth-control-condoms?page=2&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Male condoms&lt;/a&gt; have been around much longer than &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/496673&quot; &gt;female condoms&lt;/a&gt; so I think they definitely get used more, but isn&#039;t it great that there&#039;s another option available that allows women can be in control too? A woman can now use the female condom to protect herself from disease and motherhood, and no longer has to &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/725475&quot; &gt;rely on the guy to use a condom&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline center&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/users/1/12981/48_2007/condom.preview.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;outline image preview&quot; height=&quot;242&quot; width=&quot;550&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Want to see how these two compare? Then &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Birth Control Pill Cases Complete With Alarm</title>
 <link>http://dearsugar.com/763338</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;If you are on the &lt;a href=&quot;http://dearsugar.com/756381&quot; &gt;birth control pill&lt;/a&gt;, chances are you absolutely love that they are so effective at preventing pregnancy and regulating your period, but you hate having to remember to take it everyday. Missing even one pill can really screw up your cycle and cause unplanned pregnancies, so it&#039;s important not to forget to pop your pill &lt;i&gt;at the same time every day.&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;inline center&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://images.teamsugar.com/files/users/1/12981/45_2007/pill_0.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; title=&quot;&quot; class=&quot;outline image preview&quot; height=&quot;494&quot; width=&quot;448&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I just came across a clever little gadget that may help you remember. Not only do these cases hold your birth control pills in a discreet way, but they also have an alarm you can set to beep when it&#039;s time to take your pill. They&#039;re made by &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.pillpaks.com/&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;pillpacks.com&lt;/a&gt; and they come in a variety of styles to fit the kind you take. They cost about $20 and hey, aren&#039;t we all for anything that helps us to remember something important?!&lt;/p&gt;
