British Couple Collects Rubbish For Honeymoon Flight

Remember when I told you about the couple that paid for their Fiji honeymoon by collecting cans and exchanging them for cash? A couple from Petersfield, in Hampshire did the same thing, except in a quarter of the time it took the other couple! John and Ann Till collected recyclable items for only three months, and instead of waiting for their own collection of recyclables to build up they went out and collected litter from the streets of their town.

They used an automated recycling machine at their gas station that gave one point on a card for every four items put in to the machine. For every 250 points they got 600 British Airways miles, and after three rigorous months of collecting discarded recyclables they had enough miles for $5,200 business class flights. John said, "At the very beginning, we were concerned it would not be achievable, but then we saw the amount of rubbish out there. There was enough rubbish out there to fly us to the moon and back."

Money Tip: Do Get This Creative With Saving Tricks

While chatting with a girlfriend over a leisurely al fresco lunch this weekend, she told me about a friend of hers who managed to pay for an entire Fiji honeymoon by getting creative with her saving. During the year leading up to their wedding, she and her fiancé saved all of their empty bottles and would periodically exchange them at the recycling center for cash. Every cent of those proceeds went into their honeymoon fund, and when all was said and done they had enough to pay for their romantic island getaway.

This saving solution isn't for everyone, especially those who don't go through a lot of bottled beverages, but it does suggest there are little saving tricks in all of our lives just waiting to be discovered.

If you're a traditional gal, chances are you won't move in with your husband-to-be until he is, well, your husband. Sorry to burst your love bubble, but living together means sharing a closet — gasp! For any gal who is overly protective of her clothes (present), this reality is downright scary. But don't reconsider your commitment now; I've got some solutions to ease your closet-sharing fears.

Since you'll probably be moving your clothes into a new closet, it's the ideal time to get rid of stuff you haven't worn in over a year. Honestly, if you haven't worn it in that long, you probably won't wear it again. Plus, even more reason to buy new stuff!
There's nothing like hanging your lovely clothes on pretty and scented hangers. Buy a bunch and you'll keep your section of the closet ultra feminine.
You can barely count how many handbags you own. It's OK — that's why buying a hanging purse organizer is useful. If your husband finds your purses lying on the floor, he won't get that you and your bags are inseparable. And if that happens, you won't be able to defend yourself when buy that new bag to have.

This has no bells and whistles. Sometimes a song doesn't need any of that. It's all about the lyrics. Ever need to switch the song because you get choked up listening to it? There are a few songs that have that effect on me — this is one of them. Jamiroquai is a longtime favorite of mine; he's funky, multitalented (adorable dance moves), and wears really fun hats. This song is so sweet, so romantic, it would bring any girl to tears, especially while on her honeymoon. Don't let the kindergarten script deter you, this song is about some serious love.

In my experience, the majority of brides see their honeymoons as a chance to unwind and relax with the new hubby. Some prefer a tropical and remote destination where there's not much to do besides soak up the sun and smile. (I think we all know what "smile" is code for.) Others prefer to engage in various activities outside of the bedroom.However, I'm hard-pressed to find a bride that didn't need a little bit of de-stressing after the big day. How-To: Honeymoon at Home

Whether you're post-poning your honeymoon until you can take time off of work, or you simply can't afford to get away, honeymooning at home is an option to consider. Don't yawn just yet! There are a lot creative things you can do to spice up the time after your wedding — and I don't mean buying new lingerie.Here are a few to get you thinking outside of the box (or bed). Feel free to add your own suggestions, laugh, applaud, or tell me I'm totally wacko.

Rearrange your furniture. Move things around in your bedroom, kitchen, living room, and other high traffic rooms in your home. If you have a guest bedroom, consider staying there for the week. When you return home after your wedding, it'll feel like a whole new world!
Hide all of your paperwork and lock your office door. Disconnect your cable and Internet. Don't let yourself get into your normal routine of watching prime time TV or glossing over your utility bills.
Treat your house like a resort hotel. Pick up a fresh new set of towels, and maybe even crisp white matching bathrobes. Set flowers everywhere. Hire a maid to clean everyday. Put travel bottles of shampoo and toiletries in your bathroom, and peanuts and chocolate bars in your refrigerator. Order "room service" from a restaurant.
Pack a vacation suitcase and only wear the clothes in it during your "honeymoon." Don't open your closet door or even worry about what you're wearing. Your husband loves you as is!
