When Oprah announced there was
a twist to her famous favorite things episode this year, I was thrilled to learn the difference was in cost. It seems she is taking
a note from TeamSugar members this year and promoting several homemade gifts that are big on thought and easy on the wallet. Oprah said, "Bringing real meaning back to the holidays is my favorite thing."

I learned something new on Friday while watching
Oprah's second installment of sex therapy with Dr. Berman. While I knew that our lady business is a
self-cleaning organ, I learned that there is only one other organ that has that same ability.

If you tuned into Oprah yesterday, you'd see just how true the statement "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is. Mara Schiavocampo of NBC news traveled around the word to find out
how different cultures define beauty. She discovered that big butts and ankles are considered beautiful in Mauritania, a perfect nose is ideal for Iranian women, and straight hair and pale skin is what Japanese women go to great lengths to achieve.

Thank goodness for TiVo! Just like many of you probably did, I raced home yesterday to catch Brad Pitt on
Oprah. I wasn't digging his
mustache per se, but my ears perked up when I heard him talk.

Jennifer Aniston
sat down with her good friend Oprah yesterday to talk about her December Vogue
article, her new movie, and of course, her love life. She went on to squash some of the never-ending rumors, but she also voluntarily stated that she considers herself to be lucky in love, even though it may not look how it's supposed to!
Love is multifaceted and while it's easier for some to find than others, I do think there are certain people that just get lucky in that way.

Between her
postelection special and her
hilarious appearance on 30 Rock, Oprah Winfrey had
a pretty huge week last week. But there was one big rumor swirling toward the end of it: that
Oprah might quit her talk show in 2011 to focus on
starting her TV network.
Oprah's current contract expires in Fall 2011, but her production company, Harpo, said
no decision has been made about whether to continue the show beyond that.

I know I don't usually recap
30 Rock around here, but after this week's episode — which featured a guest appearance from Oprah — I figured there was no better time to talk about the show. If you haven't seen the episode yet,
the whole thing's on Hulu, so treat yourself this Sunday and give it a watch. Some of my favorite moments:
- The idea that Jack Donaghy's tranquilizers might lead to "sleep crime."
- Liz, under the influence of said tranquilizers, whispering that she was "snitting next to Barpo."
- Tracy Jordan's monster claw.
- Sweater capes!
- Oprah's ninth-grade boyfriend.
If none of this makes sense to you, you owe it to yourself to watch that episode now.

Oprah Winfrey opened her post-election special wearing a "Hope Won" shirt, screaming into the camera, and waving her American flag. Exuberant and proud, she told viewers who supported John McCain that while she understands their disappointment, they should know that if Obama did not win, she would have been in the hospital. Although she made an exception to make her presidential choice public this year, Oprah did not use her hit show as a political platform.
Does Oprah's Endorsement Make You Want a Kindle More? In case you missed it, Oprah announced that Amazon's Kindle was her new faaaaaavorite gadget on her show on Friday. Now, when Oprah says something is her favorite, people don't just acknowledge it — they respond with consumer glee, often selling out that product.
