Since I've finally followed through with my standing New Year's resolution, I have to come up with a new one this year! I always try to pick something that I know I can actually accomplish, but I have yet to make my decision for 2007. I need some ideas, so ladies, what about you? Do tell: What's your New Year's resolution this year?

I constantly b*tch and complain, without even knowing it most of the time. Although I tend to do it on a more joking and wise ass kind of way, I've realized how often it is that I am doing it. SO i'm trying to quit for the new year!

Yeah, this is the first time I've had to make a resolution to lose weight. It's not very creative, but I need to drop some weight. Also, I'm going to try to be better about being vegan. I probably won't go all the way, but I want to continue/improve my efforts from this year.

Even though I never stick to my resolution...I should cut down on my junk food intake....I have a terrible sweet tooth! And just over all try and stay healthy.

    New Year's Resolutions:

1.) Find a work-balance that relieves the monotany...ie request cross-training. Learning something new will help break up the pattern I've been so dissatisfied with lately.

2.) Adhere to a healthier lifestyle by incorporating excersise into my week, maintaining healthier eating habits and restoring a healthy mindframe by worrying less.

3.) Try to find my patience when it comes to dealing with my mother. It isn't her fault she's having trouble right now. She's showing early signs of Alzheimers.

4.) Work on managing my finances in a way that allows me more financial freedom. Start the small steps towards securing my finacial future...ie start direct deposits into my savings account and over-see my money market with more authority.

5.) Focus soley on the positive aspects of my relationship with my boyfriend, dwell less on the negatives. Approach each situation with a positive outlook, remind myself of the things I am happy with when I find myself unhappy about something.

Have better self-esteem. Over the years I've realized no matter how much weight i lose, whether or not i have a bf, how many parties i'm invited too; my self-esteem is always catastrophically low.
the worst part is that i'm apparantly so good at hiding it people are completely incredulous when/if i finally come out with it: "but you're the life of the party, etc.."

The truth is: i desperately need so to hammer it into my head that i'm not worthless and shouldn't exist for other people. and that being selfish is ok sometimes.

So yeah, my resolution is to be more confident. To stop trying way too hard to be this 200% bubbly cheerleader character and let people see more of who i really am. That i do get sad sometimes, and that i also do need help.

Also- i need to start writing again. Over the last year of my relationship with my ex i did this thing i always do all the time, where i completely adapt my whole personality to the other person. Well, he didn't like books and art. So i stopped writing (even tho i was being published), stopped going to museums and took up climbing, hiking and camping.

I think it's high time for me to stand up for myself and this year is the year to do it! Smiling

I'm doing the Abs diet. I was on it for a couple of weeks before my birthday and the holidays started.. but in a VERY short time my abs started to show and my sides started shrinking. Well, good old yuletide came along and all the healthy eating and 5 day a week workouts went out the window. I am starting over on January 1st and am going to try the 6 week program following it to a T.
I would also like to learn to dress better. I'm going for the "creative professional" look in 2008! Maybe I might even wear heels now and again? (((shudders in fear))))

My big resolution for the year is to find a volunteer opportunity that I'm passionate about and that helps the community.

    My smaller resolutions:

    -- Start composting
    -- Visit more art museums
-- Make all my bread from scratch
-- Stop picking at my skin

    1) write more
    2) get a job (eh. this is a concession to my husband. I don't want a job.)
    3) be happier. Because there is nothing at all wrong with my life. So I need to embrace that.

    1. See some people I don't visit often because it means leaving the city and that isn't always as easy as it sounds.

    2. Take some classes

    3. Try to relax about finances. I worry about that all the time.

    1. Start working out and I would like to loose 10-20 pounds. I know everyone says they want to loose weight but I started talking to a personal trainer and I'm gonna stick to it!

    2. Stop cursing, it's unattractive and I always seem to let one slip out.

    3. Study hard and do well this semester in school! Only one year left!

    4. Get the job I want as assistant event planner.

    5. Try to start dating again (after the hard break up I had this year)

    6. Save money!!

    - like nearly everyone else, losing weight. this time though i am going low-carb, low sugar, exercising everyday. i've already started doing it, so the challenge is keeping it up.

    - i'm not going to settle when it comes to relationships. i keep settling for guys that i like enough, but don't REEEEALLY like. so they end up liking me a lot more than i like them. i need to let myself be vulnerable a bit and open up.

    - i want to take more pictures. i got a camera over the summer for a business trip to denmark and i haven't been making the most of it.

    - take in more of the arts and culture. i've been in atlanta 9 years and have not visited the high or gone to the fox theatre.

My N.Y.R. last year was to not drink soda the whole year and I'm almost done! Only 3 more days and I can have a freakin' soda! I'm pretty excited.

However 2008 will be different and a bit more difficult.

-No fast food. This just means chain ones, Mcd's, taco bell, etc. I can have restraunt food. Laughing out loud

-No relationship for atleast 6 months (if not the whole year). I've been in and out of relationships since I was 16.

-Get my GED. I'm 23 and still haven't gotten the courage to do it.

-Work on my self esteem. I need to learn to be happy with myself on not depend on others to be who I am. I've already bought some books on it and am very happy with the progress.

-Save for things. I have a lot of stuff coming up around April and I need money.
