David Gregory to Host Meet the Press — Good Choice?

David Gregory will be the next host of Meet the Press, according to reports. The NBC vet will take over after interim host Tom Brokaw interviews President-elect Barack Obama on this weekend's show.

Gregory, 38, has served as NBC's White House correspondent since 2000, and he currently hosts his own show on MSNBC.

When we asked last week, Gwen Ifill of PBS was the top choice among CitizenSugar readers. Now that we apparently know the pick, tell me: Will David Gregory help you get up early on Sunday mornings to watch Meet the Press?

Ah, I miss Tim. I hope David can be fair to both parties, he shows his political views a little too often.

I think he's gotten better in the past year, so I'm willing to give him a chance - but he was a boring choice for the network.

He was my choice in the orginal Citzen poll so I'm glad he made the final cut. He's the most even tempered and non loopsided of the choices....but of course he's not Tim Russert.

I think his current show is boring so I don't like this pick. I think Chuck Todd would be better.

I want to say I don't understand why they keep pushing this guy up the food chain at NBC b/c he's sooo freaking boring. But as far as reporting goes he seems the most unbiased in the MSNBC family. I would have like to have seen G. Ifill or Chucky T take the position. I get up every Sunday morning to watch MTP or later on MSNBC, but he doesn't get me that excited to watch. I will though depending on the guest.

I think the old guard at NBC is really resisting change - they're shoving all that over to MSNBC. I would have thought that with Obama and all the change he represents taking center stage in Washington, the network would have tried to freshen things up a bit. But, I do think that Gregory may surprise us all and get a little more exciting once he feels comfortable in the chair.
