Dear Poll: Have You Ever Stood Someone Up?

I asked you yesterday what would be worse: to go on a nightmare blind date or be stood up and so far, 53 percent of you felt that being stood up was far worse. I happen to agree — being rejected by someone who hasn't even given you a chance sure is a blow to your ego. But all the times I talk about the notion of standing someone up, I've asked you about being stood up, not standing someone up. So ladies, now's your chance to come clean: have you ever stood up an impending date?

I'm a hypocite, I admit but sometimes you just gotta follow your instincts and if you dont have their number, what choice do you have?

I would never do it unless there was an emergency elsewhere. I could never just leave someone hanging there because I didn't feel like meeting them.

I've never done it and hope never to. I've been stood up and it feels terrible!

i had an ex boyfriend that i found out he had chilled with a certain girl that was close to me. After all the tears and heartaches he begged me to go over his house to talk things over. I told him fine I'll be over around 11pm. HA. to his surprise I turned off my cell and went clubbing with my girlfriends and had a blast. The night was even better after he called me and left me 35 messages !!! What a punk.

I had a friend to that to me - her mum asked why I wasn't invited to hang with her and her friends, and when I waited for a call later that night, it never came - and when Monday rolled around, she acted as if it never happened. Since then, our relationship has dwindled.

Basically, ditching someone without calling is just flat out rude. If someone does that to me, I just stop talking to them - its obvious that they want nothing to do with me.

I felt like I was doing something unsafe so I decided against it. I called a little later and said my car wouldn't start so I didn't actually stand him up, just gave him time to realize I wasn't coming before I called.

Nope...if I don't want to do something, I don't make the plans in the first place. I hate people who commit to things and always bail at the last minute. And not showing up without calling to cancel is even worse.
