A Do or a Don't: Penis Paraphernalia at Bachelorette Parties

There is no question that bachelorette parties are a ton of fun, but they have their cheesy moments too. Some women opt for a low-key girls getaway, but others go all out, dressing up the bride in a veil and adorning her in as much penis paraphernalia as they can get their hands on! Yes, it's kind of funny, but I'm not one for embarrassing prenuptial gear. What about you? Do you think penis paraphernalia at a bachelorette party is a do or a don't?

i said it's a DO, but only because there was no middle ground option
there's nothing wrong with it, if that's the bride's personality, but it's also absolutely not necessary
personally, i think minimal costumes and kitchy stuff at bars are fun, ie: a birthday girl tiara or something, but when you dress someone up in unflattering stuff and make her wear lifesavers on her shirt, with a big blow up penis, i wouldn't necessarily think that makes for a more fun night than a typical girls-go-out-dancing extravaganza

i think it's hilarious, depending on the bachelorette. i've been to quite a few where it wouldn't have been appropriate for the bride-to-be. but one of my friends who is getting married this summer is declaring her party "PENIS FEST 2008". hahaha.

I think it's kind of stupid, personally, but to each their own.

Uhh...Penis straws and such are alright, but I wouldn't want to be wearing penises on my person. That's pretty ridiculous!

I said no, but whatever floats your boat. Then I stopped to really think about it and... yech. Imagine if guys went around decked out in fake vaginas, eating vagina cake and such. It's extremely crass when you think about it.

Also, I just don't get it. You're getting married to the man you love - why does that mean you should suddenly be surrounded by fake penises?

If people find it fun then that's all that matters I guess - it's their party. But yeah... I don't really understand it!

I'd have been horrified. I don't find them appropriate at all.

I think it really depends on the bride. I don't think I'd want a bunch of penises adorning me at my bachelorette party, but my friend had a blast with them at hers.

I don;t know, I think its kind of just one of those crude, funny thins you do at a b-party...I think it can get excessive, but how funny is it when the penis cake comes out? Straw are ok too. I don;t know about like a penis tiara, necklace, etc. though? A little much at that point.

It definitely depends on the bride and all those involved, but I think a little penis "fun" is ok. But keep it to a minimum!!

I was in Las Vegas recently and saw A LOT of brides-to-be wearing penis paraphernalia. To me, getting married is not about sex or getting access to a penis. I would be a bit weirded out if my husband-to-be was wearing vagina paraphernalia for his bachelor party. But, to each her own, I don't judge others for doing it, it's just not for me.

Personally, I think it's a bit tacky and would not be caught dead in penis paraphernalia. I say "to each, her own."

It's tacky and immature. If you still think penises are something to giggle about, maybe you're not quite ready to get married.

Most people are saying "to each her own," but in this case, I think it's just gross. When I'm out somewhere, and a hoard of noisy females decked out in phallic attire descend on the place, it makes me a little uncomfortable.

I think it all depends on the bride-to-be. I'm in two weddings next year. I'm sure one bachlorette party will be filled with penises because it very much fits the kooky personality of the bride-to-be, but the other one certainly will not.

depends on the person. my best friend is super fun, outgoing, and a little crazy...and i'm going to shower her in penis everything for her bachelorette party. i can only hope she'd do the same for me. so what if you're not the classiest broad in the bar the moment you walk in with a penis necklace and penis baloons? the only thing you're going to remember is how much fun you had laughing about it.
