True Confession — Is Sex For the Thrill of It Forgivable?

I know how much you all love our Sunday Confessional, so my friend at True Confessions is joining forces with me to bring you a midweek confessional! Weigh in and tell us if you forgive or not forgive the confessional below.

"I'm sleeping with my best friend. I work with him and I could be severely disciplined if anyone found out about us. I like knowing that what we are doing is wrong, and truth be told, it's probably the only reason I'm doing it. Is having sex just for the thrill of it forgivable?"

why not forgive? she's not hurting anyone but herself...as long as both parties know nothing serious is coming of it...

If you're single I don't see why sex for the thrill of it shouldn't be forgivable. She's not hurting anyone by doing so, and it is not morally wrong.

It's forgivable, as she realizes that she could have some serious repercussions eventually.

I mean, most people have sex to have fun. As long as you're not telling you love him in order to have sex with him even if you don't really love him, then I don't see why this is even a question! I'm not sure what kind of job you work at where your sex life is the company's business...

I don't have a problem with the sex for fun part, but I hope her best friend is on board with it just being that. Because if he thinks they are going to be in a real relationship, she could end up hurting him for the fun of it. Then I might not want to forgive.

So yea...I agree with all of you as well. As long as both parties know what the situation is and they are both OK with it, I don't see a problem. I think it can be considered a conflict of interest depending on where you work but there is no reason and no need for the company to find out Shocked)

I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with having sex with your best friend and why sex for the simple thrill of it is wrong. Are you asking from the perspective of a devout catholic? As far as I'm concerned the person you fall in love with should be your best friend and of course sex can be enjoyed for the thrill it's not just for making babies.

No way! Sex is such a serious subject. It should be with someone that really means something to you. Just doing it for the thrill of it is just wrong.

I can't justify having sex just for the thrill of getting caught. Having sex in a semi-public place with your S.O. is one thing this is just crazy. You can't do this to the guy who may not see things the way you do.

not getting 1) why it is wrong, 2) why it is anyone's business where you work, 3) why you would care if anyone thought it was wrong.

I said not forgive because I think sex is special, and I don't want to advocate going around town having sex with anyone just for the hell of it. People should be classier.

However, you're both consenting adults who have known each for a while, neither of you are seeing anyone (I hope), and you aren't doing anything illegal, so I don't really see much wrong with it.

A very close friend of mine did the same exact thing with another close male friend (secretly, for months). When she told me, I was so shocked and practically yelled at her because I'm very protective over my friends. something in the lines of "HAVE YOU NO MORALS WOMAN?!!!"

But when it comes down to what THEY want, despite what everyone says...
They love to have sex with each other, but didn't see any future, so just kept on makin loooooooooove Eye-wink no strings attached.

it is a bit awkward? for them to not be touchy-romantic during the day but bumpin and grindin at night HAHA
but that's what FRIENDS W/ BENEFITS is, so why not! enjoy life when you're young!

I am not a premarital sex person, but as long as she's single and enjoying it with no harms to anyone, then who cares..whatever floats her boat..
