Dear Poll: Are You a Morning Person?

Though I occasionally have to hit the snooze button, I’m pretty good about getting up in the morning. I love having a few minutes to myself before I start getting ready to clear my mind and enjoy that perfect morning sunshine. But for some people, there's just nothing enjoyable about early morning, except sleeping! Which category do you fall under?

I'm both. I used to be a total night owl, but as I've gotten older, I've been making an effort to wake up earlier and I actually like it. If you'd told me five years ago that I'd enjoy mornings, I'd have thought you were crazy. But...I can still burn the midnight oil when I need to!

I can stay up until the wee hours fine but mornings are horrible. Ugh. It usually means I have to run errands or go to work during the day.

I can't fight it - I'm a total morning person. Don't get me wrong - I sleep in on the weekends, but that means, like, 8:30 or 9:00 if I'm out really late. It's just the way my body works!

I used to be a night person, but now I'm a morning person. I wake up at 5:45 for work and am ready to go. Some mornings are harder, but usually I'm fine. I also don't drink coffee, so it's not like I need that to get me up. But by 10pm. I'm done!

I'm a little bit of both. I like to stay up sometimes, but I also really like to be up earlier to get going. If I don't, I feel like I've wasted most of my day.

Even without an alarm, I wake up at 7:30. Sucks on vacations. It also means I crash at 10pm!

I can stay up all night, but waking up in the morning is very tough. I think I'm just still used to being in that mode from the good old college days when you're cramming like crazy and pulling all nighters. I can be a morning person only when I'm on vacation, its really strange.

    I put neither.

BUT, I only like waking up if it's for a vacation and I'm catching a flight, or, if something else is going on like I'm at the cabin. Anything else, ehhh, no.

My sister & mother are up at the crack of dawn. My father & I are sleep in kinda folks, and are both rather grumpy until coffee (him), shower (me). And my 18 year old brother? Well, let's just say he's not a morning person.

I used to be a night owl in college, but i'm a total morning person now.In fact, I feel bad if i'm still in bed at 7 am. During the weekends, when i'm feeling lazy, i'll sleep in until 8 am. I just don't like to waste my days!

I'm a morning person, if I don't get up for school in the morning I wake up about 7.30/8 anyway. I just can't lie in for long.

Yes, generally I am a morning person. I've honestly never used the snooze button in my life! I just get up when my alarm goes off...I'm not going to escape anything by sleeping for an extra ten minutes.

i have a circadian rhythm disorder. i basically have a 25-26 hour body clock instead of the usual 24 hour body clock most people have, so my sleep schedule shifts one hour later if i'm not careful with my sleep hygiene. i suppose i have more of a tendency of being a night owl, but am so happy when i can be awake in the morning. i've had "days" where i fall asleep and wake up in the dark. also, being awake when everyone else is sleeping can be very lonely and depressing.

I'm not a morning person at all. My class on Tuesdays and Thursdays starts at ten a.m. My other classes on Mondays and Wednesdays starts at noon.

I have a 25/26 hour body clock too. It's always easy for me to stay up late but I can't fall asleep early. I feel like I have a permanent case of jet lag, except for when I actually AM jet-lagged. I love traveling because it's the only time I can easily function on a normal schedule -- the bigger the time difference, the better I feel. The rest of the time I feel like a zombie, and about once a month I have to stay up for an extra 8 to 12 hours in order to reset my internal clock.

I enjoy sleeping, but it's really rare for me to fall asleep before midnight. If I was having a slumber party or hanging out with friends, it's possible for me to stay awake for over 48 hours. That said, I'm in college, which means I have ample opportunity to take three naps a day.

I like to say that I am an afternoon person. I am not a morning person and I crash at 10p. My puppies wake me up at about 7:30a every morning even if I don't have to go to work. I am pregnant now so I don't think that things are gonna be any easier. Eye-wink I'll adjust, I hope...lol...

I loathe mornings, and am probably the most anti-morning person that I know. I'm a total night owl and even though its a waste, if I don't have to work I wont drag myself out of bed until midday at the earliest.

I clicked neither, but I like to think of it as more of both. I can stay up super late but I also don't have problems with mornings. As long as I get my sleep. So if I'm up late there's no way I'm getting up early and the morning will be rough, but if I'm in bed at a decent time and get enough sleep I have no problems with mornings.
